Discusses recent works by five American and European artists--Jennifer Bolande, Jeff Koons, Guillaume Bijl, Stephan Balkenhol, Katharina Fritsch--all of which have the middle-class ethos as the dominant subject, though their approach is not deconstructive. Argues that these art works reflect a new relation to politics, space, and time.
