Indicates the importance of S. João da Foz (Figueira da Foz) as the first example (1527) of Portuguese architecture based on ancient models, in antithesis to the Manueline style; and presents proposals for restoration of the church, which was part of the complex built by D. Miguel da Silva at the mouth of the Douro.
