Brief history of the emblem of the city of Lisbon, the ship of S. Vincent, 12th-20th cs., noting changes in the type of ship. Notes that the emblem appears (in reliefs or tiles) on buildings owned or built by the city; and comments on the census being undertaken with the support of the Comissão Nacional para as Comemorações dos Descobrimentos Portugueses.
