Abstract (en)

Discusses a group of early 17th c. Portuguese astrolabes recovered in 1985 from the wreck of the Spanish galleon N.S. de Atocha, sunk off Florida in 1622. Acquired by the Portuguese state for the Museu de Marinha (Belém), the instruments reflect the exportation of technology by the Portuguese in the period of the discoveries.
