Limited excavations of a small defended, probably Iron Age enclosure revealed an early Medieval cemetery as its final use with a long cist grave cut into the defences at ca.665 A.D. There were three phases of enclosure, the pre-cemetery features being overlaid by rows of dug graves and cist burials, whether of Iron Age or early Medieval remains unclear. A gazetteer of cist cemeteries in Dyfed is provided and discussed.
