There are timber traces of the 12th c., a substantial peasant house of the late 13th/early 14th c., a drying kiln, and three more houses, with abandonment coming in the second half of the 14th c. Three houses incorporated a measure of one rod/pole/perch rather than the Welsh customary measure. Pottery dates from the 12th c. to post-Medieval times. Finds include metal, bone and stone. Historical evidence is recounted and known Medieval and 16th c. habitation sites in Barry are listed.
