Discussion of various types of wrapper bindings. Appended is a survey of the 56 manuscripts with such Medieval bindings that are known today. The three in the Koninklijke Bibliotheek, The Hague, dating from the 12th c., the second half of the 14th c., and ca.1460 respectively, are described in detail.
