Exhibition of 39 conceptually-oriented 20th c. photographs (mostly post-1945) that question gender-related stereotypes and accepted forms of thinking. Author applies aspects of cultural and psychoanalytical theory to these selected images to make evident a practical way of thinking about the role of art in defining social positions.
