Abstract (en)

On the basis of documentary, iconographic, topographic, and archaeological data, discusses the evolution of the factory for printing and dyeing textiles in Rio de Mouro from 1778 through the 19th c. Deplores the demolition (1981) of the remains of its buildings, which constituted valuable evidence for industrial archaeology of the Sintra area. Appendix with documents, including the text of the investigation of 1881.
