Examines the style of the decoration of two capitals in the Museu Arqueológico, Lisbon (identified here as originally part of the west portal of the ruined chapel of S. Pedro in the Castelo dos Mouros, Sintra) and a group of other 12th and 13th c. capitals from south central Portugal; draws attention to the existence of a true southern Romanesque style in Estremadura. Appendix with documents concerning churches in the Lisbon area in the mid-13th c.
