Abstract (en)
Psychologist author argues that all human beings are born with the capacity to organize and express their unique vision of the world in some creative fashion, but that this capacity is extinguished through the cultural values that subtly but powerfully exert influence inside and outside schools. Describes the teaching of visual arts to such marginal populations as the mentally retarded, disadvantaged children and the institutionalized elderly.
