Argues that van Dyck's portraits of Frans Snyders and his wife Margaretha de Vos, now in the Frick Collection, New York, remained in private hands in Antwerp until at least the second half of the 17th c. The portraits, painted ca.1619-1620, influenced the portraits painted by Margaretha's brother Cornelis during the 1620s in Antwerp.
