Describes the interiors--some Gothic revival--designed by William Wilkins and their adaptation since the 1950s. Discusses the installation of the Earl of Rosebery's collection of paintings, textiles and decorative arts which was moved from Mentmore House, Buckinghamshire, in 1978.
