Abstract (en)

During the 1760s members of the Amsterdam art society Pax artium nutrix used to meet in the inn De Zon (The Sun), where the waitress Anna de Jong, nicknamed 'Zon-sireen' (Siren of the Sun), seems to have been the main attraction. Discusses her portraits drawn by such artists as Jurriaan Andriessen and Reinier Vinkeles.
