Discusses the identity of the sculpted head from a late 13th or early 14th c. gisant figure of a king (Naples, Museo e Gallerie Nazionali di Capodimonte), probably by a French sculptor working in Naples. Suggests that it is the only surviving remnant of the original tomb of Charles I d'Anjou in the cathedral of Naples.
