Abstract
(en)
Reviews the literature on the Tavola Strozzi (painted between 1465 and 1485, formerly in the collection of Filippo Strozzi, Florence, now in the Museo e gallerie nazionali di Capodimonte, Naples) and suggests an attribution to Francesco Rosselli. Presents a graphic reconstruction of its view of Naples, analyzing the perspective and labeling the major buildings depicted. Analyzes late 16th c. views of Naples by Flemish artists, including Jan van Stinemolen (drawing, Albertina, Vienna), Anton van den Wyngaerde (engraving, Kungliga Biblioteket, Stockholm), and Jan Brueghel the elder (painting, Greater Fish Market, Alte Pinakothek, Munich).
