Abstract (en)

Discusses the interrelated roles of sculptor and silversmith in Naples, sometimes combined in the same persons. Surveys the work of the principal masters, 17th-18th cs. Attributes to Lorenzo Vaccaro the model for a S. Hippolytus (Roccaraso, parish church), executed by the silversmith Nicola d'Aula, and a S. Anastasia (Sant'Anastasia, S. Maria in Nova), executed by Ferrante de Palma and Biagio Guariniello.
