History of the Caffè Greco, Rome, from 1760 to the present, with notes on its interior decoration and a catalogue of its works of art, chiefly 19th c. Italian and German paintings and sculpture, including several works by Vincenzo Giovannini, Edmund Hottenroth, and Luigi Amici, as well as single works by Angelica Kauffmann and Philipp Hackert. The Caffè Greco was the habitual meeting place of the Nazarenes in Rome and remained linked to the German-speaking community.
