A selection of houses in Kent of the period ca.1300-ca.1550 has been dated by tree-ring techniques. As a result a master dendrochronological sequence for oak has been formed for the period A.D. 1158 to 1540. The article contains a brief outline of how this is done. The master can be used to date oak from other houses in Kent of the period.
