Examines the code of Welsh law, surviving in Welsh and in Latin texts from ca.1200 to 1500, to obtain information on domestic building at all levels of society and to discern more primitive conditions when the Laws were orally transmitted. This literary information is set alongside the modest array of archaeological evidence and attention is drawn to the discrepancies.
