Presents documentary evidence of Florentine patronage in Rome, 1611-1621: selections from a book of records of orders for payment issued to Florentine bankers in Rome by Piero Guicciardini while he served there as ambassador of the grand duke of Tuscany. These include orders of payment, primarily for silver objects, paintings, and ancient sculpture, made in his own behalf and in behalf of Cardinal Carlo de' Medici and Cosimo II.
