Argues (in light of an identification made by Alessandro Parronchi) that the prototype for a group of replicas of the Madonna and Child by the workshop of Joos van Cleve was not the Madonna and Child attributed to Mabuse in the Museo Diocesano of Bressanone but a painting by Joos van Cleve after Leonardo's lost Madonna of the Cherries, known from a copy by Giampietrino formerly in a private collection in Budapest. Also presents a second group of replicas of the Madonna and Child based on a lost prototype by Quentin Metsys.
