Abstract (en)

Recounts the evolution of S. Maria dei Miracoli 15th-20th cs., then focuses on Giovanni Battista Pittoni's SS. Jerome, Peter of Alcantara and Another Franciscan Saint which was installed shortly before 1733 and removed between 1837 and 1855 as part of a purist "restoration" of the church. Describes the original setting for the altarpiece which is now in the National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh.
