Abstract (en)

Describes the increasingly difficult problem of sorting out meaning in works of art that upon initial viewing look alike but are removed from their original context. Cites felt objects by Joseph Beuys and Robert Morris, men's suits in installations by Haim Steinbach and John Armleder, and suitcases in works by Ange Leccia and Alan Belcher.
