Discusses two essays by the Czech author and photographer: "Die Aufgaben der modernen Fotografie", 1931, which espouses a Marxist theory of the purpose of photography; and "Űber die Fotomontage," 1932, which deals with the technique of collage in Cubism, Dada, Constructivism and Futurism and its relation to photography.
