Discusses the recent works of five Italian sculptors: Manlio Caropreso, Umberto Cavenago, Antonio Catelani, Daniela De Lorenzo, Carlo Guaita. Notes that while much of current "post-modern" sculpture has found its home in the identity of the simulacrum, these Italian sculptures are grounded in an identity of production itself, in this case architectural, industrial, or mechanical production.
