Abstract (en)

On Thomas Vogler's 1525-1526 poem Deus noster, refugium et virtus and the iconography of its accompanying woodcut of the doubting S. Thomas. Author also uses the poem to help establish the printing history of Alciati's Emblamatum liber (1531), and discusses it as a source for Martin Luther's hymn A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.
