Discusses the design and construction of a number of Gothic style buildings, mostly churches, built in New Zealand during the episcopate of George Augustus Selwyn (1841-1868), a strong advocate of the Gothic style. Most of these buildings featured exposed timber-frame construction, steeply pitched roofs, and lancet windows. Cites architects and pattern book sources.
