Abstract (en)
Demonstrates that the inscription by Alberti on the Holy Sepulchre monument designed for Giovanni Rucellai (Florence, S. Pancrazio) is comprised of Roman letters constructed with the circle and the square as described in the Alphabetum romanum of Felice Feliciano, and relates this to antiquarianism in northern Italy and Padua.
