Paper presented at the colloquium, The Scientific Dimension of Cultural Development, Rome, Italy (29 Sept-2 Oct 1987). Bonacić, a member of the cybernetic art team "bcd", discusses that group's cybernetic sculpture, Instantaneous, consisting of 64 'dynamic windows' simultaneously exploring the generation of a transcendental Galois field via 16 computers linked to a computer network.
