Abstract (en)

Offers a more positive interpretation of the character Oothoon as depicted in Blake's poetry and illuminations, especially his 1793 Visions of the Daughters of Albion. Concludes that "while Oothoon does not and cannot approximate a contemporary feminist ideal, she comes closest to bridging the curious gap between Blake's belief in human liberation and his poetic representation of the female."
