Presents evidence resulting from restoration and technical examination of the Adoration of the Shepherds attributed to Francesco di Giorgio, from the Tancredi altarpiece in S. Domenico, Siena; identifies three phases of execution: the first by Francesco di Giorgio, who laid out the entire painting but left it unfinished; the second, partial completion, here attributed to Bernardino Fungai; and the third by an unknown artist.
