Discusses Massys's technique of painting in glue tempera medium on linen (flax) in Virgin and Child with SS. Barbara (?) and Catherine, using infrared photography. Compares it with Dieric Bouts's use of glue tempera in his Entombment. Both paintings are in the National Gallery, London.
