Discusses the relationship between image and text in the medieval German court epic Aeneid, 1220-1230 (Berlin, Staatsbibliothek Preussischer Kulturbesitz, Hs B, MS germ. fol. 282). Suggests that the artist of the illuminations might also be the author of the text bands. Compares it with several other manuscript illuminations from the same period.
