Analyzes the danger posed to "truth" by computer-manipulated photographic imagery (i.e. digital retouching or electronic imaging), both in still photography and in television, and in a variety of contexts (including the question of photographs as legal evidence; alteration of news images; copyright and the issue of appropriation); argues that the real danger is political.
