Discusses Gottfried Wagner's collection of 10,202 drawings, acquired by Augustus the Strong, in 1728, for the Dresden Kupferstichkabinett. Notes that the Wagner collection consists mainly of German 17th c. drawings but includes also a large number of Dutch, Italian and French works of the 16th and 17th cs. Two appendixes reconstruct the contents of each of the Wagner volumes after their cataloguing in 1738.
