Abstract (en)
Presents a book of drawings by a follower of Giovanni Antonio Dosio (Florence, Biblioteca nazionale centrale, MS NA 1159), comprising 77 folios on which 104 pieces, mainly antique Roman funerary reliefs, are drawn. Compares some of the folios with contemporary drawings of the same antique objects, and suggests that the manuscript may have to do with efforts of its owner, Jacopo Dani, to supply Strada with drawings after antique subjects, a relationship indicated in correspondence between them dating from the 1570s.
