Abstract (en)
Interprets the imagery and mottoes on medals of Aretino: the satyr (a reference to Aretino as satirist), the motto veritas omnium parit (from Terence), the seated figure of Truth (based on a woodcut from Willaert's Cantus liber, Venice 1536), and the satyr's head composed of phalluses (a reference to the satyr's natural sexuality).
