History of the Piazza dei Cavalieri, Pisa, and its surrounding buildings: the Palazzo dei Cavalieri (including the remains of the Palazzo degli Anziani), the Palazzo dell'Orologio, the church of S. Stefano dei Cavalieri, the Palazzo dei Dodici, and others. Examines the roles of Cosimo I de' Medici and Giorgio Vasari in the 16th c. planning of the Piazza. Reproduces the escutcheons of the Ordine dei Cavalieri di S. Stefano, 16th-19th cs.
