Abstract
(en)
Calotypes by Caneva, views of Rome and environs, from the collections of the author and of the Museo di Storia della Fotografia, Florence. Provides biographical information on Giacomo Caneva, Frédéric Flachéron, Augusto Castellani, Ludovico Tuminello and others associated with the Scuola Romana della Fotografia, a group of photographers who met together in Rome in the 1850s. Suggests that many early photographs signed "Tuminello" should instead be attributed to Caneva, whose negatives were sold to Tuminello and reprinted under his name.
