Abstract (en)

Finds little evidence of the hand of Girolamo dal Santo (Girolamo Tessari) in Busati's Lignum Crucis (or Christ Crucified on the Tree of Life with Saints, Basilica di S. Antonio, Padua), despite the fact that dal Santo is documented to have finished the painting in 1518 after Busati's declaration of insolvency (1510). Discusses sources for the iconography, with a comparison to two paintings of Lorenzo Lotto.
