Discusses the Stati delle Anime (yearly census of each parish) as an archival source for the architectural history of Rome, with a specific case study: the Casa di Pietro Zaccone, occupied by the Fontana family of architects in the 18th c. and demolished in the 1930s. (Its portal, by Giovanni Battista Mola, is in the Musei Capitolini, Rome.)
