Abstract (en)

Describes entries in the 1933 competition to design an entertainment center for the seaside resort of Bexhill. Notes the role of mayor H.E.D.B. Sackville, 9th Earl De La Warr, in promoting the project. The structure was ultimately built to the modernist design of Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff.
