Considers the decoration of a Worcester blue and white coffee cup ca.1751-1753 (Worcester, Dyson Perrins Museum). Suggests it derives from Sung period (960-1278) album collections--made of fragments cut from old damaged pictures--which in turn were partly derived from a handscroll attributed to Ku K'ai-chih, The Nymph of the Lo River (Washington, Freer Gallery).
