Abstract (en)
Compares Queen Mary II's collection of Oriental porcelain, known through a 1694 inventory of Kensington Palace, London, with that of the 1st Earl of Albemarle, known through a 1744 sale catalogue of the contents of Huis de Voorst in Gelderland (Eefde). The earl had inherited part of Queen Mary's collection. Considers changes in collecting patterns and taste over this 50 year period.
