Abstract (en)
Discusses a group of silk fabrics, now generally thought to be Spanish 13th c., whose weave incorporates a chevron twill. The Latin word arista may mean a fishbone, and the weave was probably called arista because of its herringbone (chevron) twill. Lists the 74 known pieces of cloth of aresta, and the results of analysis of 38 of these.
