Discusses a set of 12 woodcuts produced in Venice in 1504. The blocks were designed by Bordon and cut by Jacobus. Shows how Bordon utilized Appian's description of Scipio's triumphal entry into Rome at the end of the Second Punic War. Describes works in a wide variety of media dating from the 1st half of the 16th c. which copy the Bordon/Jacobus woodcuts.
