Comments on Leonardo's interlace knots designs in the Sala delle Asse (Milan, Castello Sforzesco) and in drawings and other designs; focuses on Eisenstein's comments on knots and interwoven lines in the art of Leonardo and Dürer, his comments on weaving in the structure and composition of form, and his discussion of Dante's analysis of the Latin word aueio in terms of interlace.
