Identifies the two central figures in The Holy Women at the Sepulchre (here dated ca.1617; Pasadena, Norton Simon Museum) as the Virgin Mary as Pudicitia (after the Roman sculpture; Rome, Musei vaticani) and S. Mary Magdalen, and relates the unusual iconography to Clarisse family marriages, on the basis of Vorsterman's dedication of the print (here dated early 1621) after the painting to the wives of Louis and Rogier Clarisse, Maria Nerot and Magdalena de Schotte.
