Disputes Michael Bury's identification of a half-length marble figure sold by Christie's in September 1989 as the Fata Morgana made by Giambologna 1571-1574 for the grotto of Bernardo Vecchietti's Villa Riposo near Grassina. Argues that the marble in question is either the work of Giambologna's assistants, or an 18th c. copy of a lost original. (Refers to Apollo, 1990, 131, no 336, Feb.)
